Chinese Calendarssss

Sometime back in 2006, I decided to make a milestone in my life, make one of life's most important decision ---- that is to get married.

Every conventional chinese would know that the first thing to getting married is "Zhak Yat [canto]", auspicious day selection.

There's a complicated study / knowledge involved into this step and not every ordinary persons knows how, especially in this country.

Being a science educated person, I was somewhat suspicious / sceptical to claims of fengshui, more so listening to advice given by some chinese fengshui master in which their qualifications/capabilities have no supporting documents.
As the old chinese saying, it's better to believe that it exist rather than not (if it's not a hassle).

As such, I embarked on a quest to understand the knowledge on the internet. The return was very informative.
Below are some of the good materials to start with, and I dedicate this to my friends who are looking into making one of life's most important decision.
1. http://www.bdlrl.com/ To understand what is 黄历 and 农历, 干支 and perhaps chinese astrology.
2. http://www.oio.com.tw/ Detailed 黄历. Use this to find out 干支 of your birth date (fiancé/e, parents & in-laws as well while you are at it). Very useful site, software avaible for wedding day selection.

I managed to pick a day that was also confirmed to be suitable by the master.
Happy reading & learning.

I m back

Finally, I m back.
After months of hibernation and almost loosing my account login info.... I m finally back !

Right.
Now , what should I write about this time.....
I've actually applied for a job in a very promising continent recently.
I actually missed the opportunity previously when they called ( I'm guessing is them as no number was shown on the screen ). Stupid DIGI and ***, gang up to block receptions......
Anyway, when I check again after the posting deadline, they reposted the vacancy, & this time I applied with a much higher expected salary, :-P
The deadline is just around the corner, I can't wait for them to call and listen to what they offer.

I've been researching on this continent and it's neighbouring country. With Google & the internet, you can practically look for where the place is and how much would the accommodation cost.
Looks like the expected salary I put in won't make much of a difference after the local tax and social security deductions. If stay in the neighbouring country, might be a commuting problem.
and... the expected salary I put in is already at the higher end of the typical scale.

Sigh..... may be let's wait & see.

Today is supposed to be pay day and mine is still not reflected in my account yet. *&@%^#$
Money, is everything to me. Without it, I can't live happily and achieve my now most wanted dream sooner.
Everyday, the more I think of this, the more I become frustrated.
If you think earning a RM3k+ / month in KL will buy you a nice non-national car & a house, you better think again.
Even if your wife & you earns about RM5k a month will not be enough !
What has happened to this part of the world. Blame it on the policy maker?
As an engineer in this regoin, I can not help but feel lousy....
Work is high end, study is hardwork, but pay and recognition isn't that much to brag about and feel proud about.

Where do all this people get that kind of money from to push all the prices of the houses up , up & up ? Foreign investor with now the GOV making it easier?
I only hope the US economy will bear badly next year and re-level everything.
Till then, let's pray the Gold price will hold steady / drop slightly for now.

Desktop meme

My blog buddy has tag me to show a desktop, the reason was I'm not producing enough entry in this blog.
So, here it is.
With recent events, I probably will extend this desktop into the office's, I would even print one out and stick it on my bench !
As a kid, I always stick up the cool toys or stuffs around in my room so that I can admire them whenever I want though I may not be bought one.
Even now, at this age, I still do that for stuffs that are beyond reach for now, but it's only on computer desktops, virtually. In the office, I put up pictures of my dream cars, interior and exterior. As I've just move to a new PC with more disk space, give me some time n I'll post again here to share just that, my passion.
I'm a car fanatics, though I may not know all things of them, but I do know how they work and most of the major components in the engine compartment of the normal cars on road. n..... I'm not a trained Automotive Engineer, amazing?

Patience. ren3.
I never got enough of it.

I think it's time I train myself harder to attain this spiritual value.

The only way I know to do this is to not think about the stuff that makes me boil, getting onto something else I like at the same time helps even more.

With incident this morning, guess I'll devote daily evening time to daily stress release session n not think about all things that has upset me in the day and I know by doing this, I tend to forget what has made me mad in the first place.

Intro

Welcome to a world of 1451

1451 in Chinese is "一四五一" [yi si wu yao]
It sounds like "一世无忧" [yi shi wu you]
It's the thought of my brilliant wife.

All our lives, especially Chinese, are so obsessed with the no. '8'.
It's not always without worries even if you are wealthy.
But, if you are not financial comfortable, you'll have more worries, that's all.

There you go.
welcome to 1451 !
